About Andrés
Andres Carballar Trejo is a Mexican violist residing in Mexico City, well noticed by teachers and colleagues due to the quality of his sound and technique stability. A current member of National Polytechnic Institute Symphony Orchestra, he has frequently joined international festivals in Mexico and is an active chamber musician.
His appeal for chamber music has led him to actively participate as pupil of international festivals such as the Guadalajara International Music Festival (FIMG), Festival del Lago at Jalisco and International Chamber Music Encounter at San Luis Potosi (EIMuC). At these, he has broadened his experience as chamber musician by adding repertoires such as P. Tchaikovsky’s Souvenir de Florence, Respighi’s Piano Quintet and Beethoven’s quartet op. 59 no. 1.
His orchestral experience has expanded from his role as principal at the Tzintzuni Philharmonic Orchestra, later at Michoacán State Symphony Orchestra (OSIDEM) under the direction of Maestro Diemecke and then at Guanajuato University Symphony Orchestra (OSUG) during the years of 2024 and 2025.
During such years, he was given the opportunity to get close to symphony repertoires such as A. Bruckner’s 9th Symphony; H. Berlioz’ Fantastic Symphony, L Berio’s Symphony, and the premiere in Mexico of R. Wagner’s opera Parsifal. It was during this period that he moved toward chamber music interpreting some F. Mendelssohn and G. Ortiz’ works with the Fenix ensemble as OSUG soloists.
Engaged in continue growing as a violist he has had the opportunity to participate in masterclasses lead by professors such as Milan Milisavijevic, Lars Anders Tomter, Catalina Ruelas Valdivia, Antonello Farulli, Takehiro Konoe and Juan-Miguel Hernandez. He is currently attending the 2026 OAcademy.
During his years as Morelia, Michoacan Conservatorio de las Rosas undergraduate he had opportunity of learning from professors such as Jose Luis Galvez, Julian Martinez, and Alessandro Orso; also, he collaborated with piano players such as Esteban Cruzzaley and Alexander Pashkov and graduated with honors. Andres has walked through a fulfilling path he started at 16 playing under the wing of professor Gellya Dubrova in the company of the viola that in 2017 was given life by the luthier Luthfi Becker
